I have a new Antec case 900 today and everything was working fine until to be plugged my headphones on pc and then no sound came. I then restarted my pc and I get no Audio Output Device is installed. Open mobo and replugged audio ports. Reverting to the computer and get "No Audio Output Device". I plugged the jack and then I heard from spark motherboard and produced a smell like burning and then I quickly shut it down. I turned it on and everything is still the same no problem. The question is how can I fix this? Do not be an effect on my pc, because I think something was burning. If I can not to fix it, can only buy a sound card? (I use one I / O panel. Ok thanks, I hope that a new sound card will be regulated. A burnt smell really have realized my pc? I am worried indeed it could have fried my mobo. Maybe even a sound card can not even fix it? Sorry I really I am concerned about this.

Try to isolate the problem. Put a motherboard that you know works on 900 Antec case (a big if, by way) and then test audio. If this does not work, is probably a problem case. If that does not work, it is likely a problem motherboard. If you happen to be a problem case, send it (I assume is still under warranty). If it is a mobo problem, only to get a free card and sound proof it before I buy a real card quality.
