Sony Ericssons latest offering in their expanding Xperia range of handsets is the new Neo handset, a phone aimed at being a slighty more affordable version of the top of the range Arc handset, yet looking at this new model, the specifications look good enough to grace any phone.
Smartphones fans will be pleased that this latest handset comes with the very latest version of the Android operating system pre installed. Boasting 2.3 Gingerbread, the interface looks better than ever, with Gingerbread also offering improvements in predictive text as well as being less demanding on the battery. Obviously a wealth of download options are currently available on the Android platform which is an attraction to many potential consumers, and in this instance the system looks and works better than ever thanks to the manufacturers own Timescape UI being used alongside the OS. Timescape effectively collaborates a host of information together in one place, thus you will not only find your texts and e mails there, but also updates from social networking services such as Facebook and Twitter. Earlier examples of this system did slow the handset down, but thanks to a new 1Ghz processor, the Neo takes it all in its stride, with every element of the phone working beyond expectations. The phone boasts an extremely high quality screen that rivals the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S2. At 480 x 854, it is one of the highest specification displays available and also displays 16 million colours as well as well as supporting multi touch technology. An accelerometer chip and a proximity sensor help complete an excellent display package.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo scores highly in the looks departments, with a perfect blend of clinically straight lines and curved elements. When in use, all necessary buttons are easy to use and the phone itself feel comfortable thanks to its weight of just 126 grammes, making it one of the lightest smartphones available, whilst with measurements of just 116 x 57 x 13mm, the unit is very comfortable to use. Some excellent multi media features help to make the new Xperia Neo one of the best phones available for photography and video capture, with a photograph resolution of over 8 million pixels and a similarly impressive video quality of 720P. Audio facilities are also well catered for, with a large number of file formats accepted including MP3 and WAV, whilst the phone sports a handy FM tuner which you can listen to through your own choice of headphones thanks to a 3.5mm stereo jack socket.
The Xperia Neo further helps establish Sony Ericsson as a leading smartphone brand, with excellent design and flawless functionality combing to result in a great all round handset.
