I have a crackle in my left headphone (Grado sr80i) whats wrong with them?

i've noticed this when watching some youtube video's my headphone left pad crackle slightly when high frequencies are played. is this just the stereo sound recorded badly or my headphones? is there a way i can test different frequencies to see if it is my headphones?

Though it may be an issue with the head phones it could also be a few other things. Here are a few steps to narrow it down:
Take the head phones and use them with multiple audio sources like an iPod/ MP3, CD player and computer if the problem still occurs then there is a chance that the may be damaged a good way of testing head phones and other audio devices is by using test tones which you can find by going to youtube and searching "test tone" this will give you a wide variety of tones to hear though these tones are normally used for EQ on things like sound systems and other audio systems they will work for what you are doing. Also make sure that the connector is in tight I am assuming that it is a 1/8 inch connector which is round an occasionally those connectors can go bad if this is the problem the connector can be replaced but depending on what kind of electronics skill you have this could be easy or quite difficult you could have someone do it for you. Other than that you could have damaged the driver inside the headphone as they can be delicate. Sorry your headphones are not working try these steps to see if you can narrow down the problem.
